Dramatic columnist, playwright, novelist, poet, essayist, representing the generation of intellectuals recognized in the Romanian culture after World War I, Ion Marin Sadoveanu contributed to the renewal of Romanian dramaturgy, particularly through his approach to theorising, but also his creation, separated from traditionalism and developing new art forms, synchronous with the Western dramaturgy.
