Constantin Brancoveanu and Antim Ivireanul are two extraordinary personalities of the late seventeenth century and early eighteenth century, who worked together to fulfill some spiritual and political objectives. This paper studies them in the light of their cultural patronage, which had a decisive contribution in shaping a cultural specific, very important in defining modern Romanian identity.
