Malta, 1990
The article evokes a visit of the author in Malta in April 1990 at a seminar organized by the Academy for the Development of Democracy (AZAD), of the ruling party, a seminar where the author was in- vited to present a paper about the transformations in Eastern Europe. It is the period immediately following the fall of communism in Romania, when many westerners expressed interest in Romania and the revolution of 1989. The article evokes the meetings occasioned by this visit.
