The study presents the personality of the Romanian priest, historian and academician Ioan Lupaș in the light of the characterizations, evocations and memories of four famous public figures of the Romanian culture of the twentieth century: the scholar Nicolae Iorga (1871-1940), the Transylvanian Orthodox Metropolitan Nicolae Balan (1882-1955), The pedagogue Onisifor Ghibu (1883-1972) and the writer Ion Agârbiceanu (1882-1963).
