Exapostilaria from a snowy spring (I)
The memorial pages of Professor Răzvan Ionescu depict a special place of his childhood, Susana monastery, with its rituals and services in the middle of the 50’s, as well as the silhouettes of those who were present in this sacred space: Patriarch Justinian and Father Anania who used to read the kathismata in the middle of the church with “profound voice, deep sound and articulated speech”. Also, Prof. Răzvan Ionescu remembers the line of abbesses recorded in the history of Susana Monastery: Justina Stănescu, Evlampia, Tomaida Perlea, Natalia Perlea, Verzea Irina and Filareta, the latter remaining in the memory of the author as having “a royal distinction” everything about her being “like a fine calligraphy of a Japanese stamp”.
