This Encyclical is a theological document issued by the Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church in Crete, Greece, between June 16-27, and deals in seven chapters with current issues regarding the Church's perspective on contemporary realities such as: mission, family, education, the challenges of the contemporary world, globalization and the nature of the Church and dialogue between Christians. The encyclical addresses not only the believers in the Orthodox Church, but also the world as a whole.
