History as future

ANA BLANDIANA, History as future
There is no secret that our epoch has a striking resemblance to the late Roman Empire. The same
atmosphere of ending season, ending power or ending world. Clearly, in ancient times, as well as
now, the conquered manage to conquer, the old colonies slowly occupy the center that ultimately is
dissolved by a subtle subversion, where different mentalities, beliefs, traditions are weapons, more
powerful than the actual weapons, especially when former conquerors no longer respects and no
longer remember their own beliefs and traditions. And because it can easily be seen how history
repeats itself, we should simply understand the past to discover the future.
