Constantin Noica and the becoming into being. Case study: ‘The Prodigal Son

CĂTĂLIN VARGA, Constantin Noica and the becoming into being. Case study: The Prodigal Son
My study focus on the becoming into being, Constantin Noica s concept, trying to summarize the
philosophical pillars into an original point of view: the periplus of the prodigal son (Luke 15). I
highlighted the major Noica s theme from his book „Becoming into being” published in 1981 (becoming
and being; becoming into becoming; becoming into being) with respect to the juvenile son s
drama of becoming. This is the fi rst attempt of this kind in roumanian orthodox theology, because
I questioned and promoted the subject from a different angle, a biblical theological one. I hope that
this research will create new synapses regarding an honest dialogue between biblical theology and
philosophy.
