PĂCURARIU MIRCEA, Nicolae Ivan – “consistorial assessor” in Sibiu and bishop in Cluj
The article presents fragments of Bishop Nicolae Ivan’s activity in Cluj, which can be analyzed in
terms of two time periods: as a diocesan councilor in Sibiu and, later, as bishop of Cluj. All priests
or theology professors who knew Bishop Nicolae Ivan of Cluj personally spoke of him in glowing
terms. Even if they had not done it, the outstanding achievements of the “founder” of the Orthodox
Diocese of Vad, Feleac and Cluj would have spoken for him through the ages.
