Judas Burning in Metagitsi (Sithonia, Greece)

"Judas Burning" - an isolated practice in Europe, but frequent in Latin America - is a symbolic manifestation of public justice, without any anti-Semitic connotation. In Greece, it is more frequently encountered in the islands and the author believes that tourism causes the habit to be practiced. Although such a practice is also mentioned in Romania, nowadays it is almost extinct, except from some "fires" in the eve of religious holidays.
