Neo-Hellenic Literature. A brief historical sketch


 

The article includes a brief overview of the Neo-Hellenic letters history in the10th century, the begining of the modern Greek literature, as agreed by most scholars, until the early 21st century.

It is a presentation of the evolution of the literature that flourished over time until the dawn of the 19th century in various centers of diaspora and the main literary trends and movements in the Greek area. Also directions of the Neo-Hellenic literature in Cyprus are pointed out. Special attention is given to the chapter about Neo-Hellenic literature written on Romanian land and to cultural relations between Romania and Greece.
