The Apocryphal Son—A Parable of The Human Condition

This essay’s starting point is Vasile Avram’s novel The Apocryphal Son—Fiul apocrif (Ecclesia, Nicula, 2005), a thoroughly prepared novel, stored by the author, for several years, in the computer memory, in several versions. The novel probes the past, becoming a sort of recollection / exploration of the childhood, the adolescence, and the maturity of character M. Vasile Avram’s novel is a parable of human faith, built up according to the baroque style, and a warning for the man who attempts substitution of his own being, and looses, at the same time, his original identity and parental faith.
