The rules drawn up by rhetors in regard to a speech convincing by rationality and aesthetically considered at the level of expression were, for centuries, paradigms and sources of ispiration in various aspects of human discursiveness, in such a way that their actuality is a recurring theme in many cultural environments. There are a few essential features of the art of rhetoric: its intentional dimension, residing in the creation of persuasion; the rhetoric art`s main target is the soul; rethoric is a form of art; rethoric has the word as its means; it is practiced in the name of the aesthetic; it is displayed in front of an audience and is valorized at the level of vocality. The author emphasizes a few interferences and differences regarding rhetoric and homiletics.
