The coordinates of the entire life lived by father Dumitru Stăniloae were: a firm faith, without concessions, and the courage to not let yourself overwhelmed by unforgiving tests. He permanently maintained the courage of being consistent, the courage of his beliefs, the modesty based on understanding the miracle of the creation, and the wish to express and make it known to the world, as much as it can be known by humans. He understood that normality needs to be endowed with the profound nature of faith and with the grounds of spirituality. The communion between theory and practical living and the bringing of spirituality into everyday life were probably two of the most important characteristics of his work. His faith, which he kept close for his entire life, was that what God expects from us is real, essential love and the acknowledgement of the destiny He offered us, which we need to piously approach. Father Dumitru Stăniloae understood that, in the light of God, existence receives truthfulness, meaning, and the certainty of eternity.
