The apocryphal “encyclical” of Pope Benedict XVI Pointing to a crisis of faith in the Catholic Church, its hierarchs and theologians started a
broad process of reflection and analysis. The article presents the point of view of the former
pope, Benedict XVI, expressed in an encyclical published in a German-language magazine. The
author notices the convincing pathos of Pope Benedict XVI’s speech, the profound and judicious
analysis of the presence / absence of God in today’s society, as well as of the “religious” in
