His voice was known to the Romanian public in the 70s of the last century when he presented the show Christian world on Radio Free Europe. He recounted his avatars in an autobiographical novel, Time of encirclement, a book of remarkable episodes and a testimony the solidarity manifested by many people who have housed or helped him, putting their freedom in danger. Nicolae Stroescu- Stânişoară went to Germany in 1969 and earned his Ph.D. in philosophy at Munich, he collaborated with and then joined the Romanian editorial department of Radio Free Europe, later being its director for six years. He passed away on June 27, 2014, at the age of 88 years, being buried in Munich.
