Metropolitan Nicolae Balan in the memories of father Liviu Galaction Munteanu

In the early days of 1919, the young student Liviu Galaction Munteanu was preparing, like most of his colleagues at the Theological Institute of Sibiu, to leave the way he began more than a year ago, to follow a different path, attracted by the many opportunities arising for the young people of Transylvania in a recently unified Romania. The farewell meeting and particularly the discussion he had with his beloved professor Nicolae Balan, the future Metropolitan of Transylvania, made him find precise and definitive answers to his struggles about his true mission in the Romanian society in the first decades of the twentieth century. The moment was recorded in his writing, in a touching manner, by professor father Liviu Galaction Munteanu after more than 20 years, when he was at full maturity.
