(Ioan Alexandru, The Confessor. Indedited memories from the Memorialist’s
Journal
The text contains some fragments from the author’s diary, written between
1986-1988. The fragments refer to the poet Ioan Alexandru and to his faith. His
way of practicing his religion was exteriorized, gesticulatory and somewhat
eccentric, to the stupefaction of secular authority. Although he was loudly
professing his faith, his spiritual “choices” were respected by the
authorities. Ioan Alexandru had a hymnographer “vocation”, his radical and
ardent missionary recommending him as a true confessor.
