The article evokes the realities of the Communist period in Romania, a time of restrictions and prohibitions. The author recounts about the type of cars that were then used in Romania, first of Russian manufacturing, then, with the emergence of political thaw, of Western manufacturing. The buyers of these cars, very few in number, were doctors, artists, engineers, athletes medalists of the regime. The article also describes how Bucharest residents were spending their leisure time, by walking, traveling, touring.
