Mission of the Church and Mass Media. Some reflections
Mass communication, the media, is one of the most important means of mission for the Church and, in the case of the former communist countries, one of the opportunities successfully exploited after 1989. The message of the Church could never reach so easily the hearts of the faithful seeking the Truth. The church press represents all the means of mass communication that the Church uses to reach its believers and those interested in the truth and the gospel. Precisely for this reason, it is a central means of evangelization in society, which can now be defined, among other things, as a society of information. In addition to its classical forms of expression, written press, radio and television, the church press has to do more with the virtual environment in which the Church tries to make its voice heard with clarity and openness.
