The Process of Negotiations between the Russian Orthodox Church Outside
Russia and the Russian Orthodox Church - Moscow Patriarchate between 2004-2006 and its importance in restoring canonical communion The study presents the negotiation process between the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia and the Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) conducted between 2004-2006 to restore canonical communion. The name of ROCOR was given to that part of the Russian Orthodox Church who, on the occasion of the first General Sobor of the entire Russian diaspora in 1921 in Karlovy Vary, chose to live in exile, for political reasons. After extensive negotiations, the Act of Canonical Unity was solemnly signed at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow on 17 May 2007.
